Obstruction Call Gives Cards Game Three Win

Boston Red Sox third baseman Will Middlebrooks obstructed Allen Craig from scoring the potential winning run, and umpire Jim Joyce awarded Craig the plate, and Game Three to the St. Louis Cardinals, 5-4.

Dustin Pedroia had cut down Yadier Molina in front of Craig, who was trying to take the extra base behind Molina. When catcher Jarrod Saltalamacchia threw wide of third, Craig tripped over Middlebrooks, causing the Joyce ruling.

The Cardinals held two leads for most of the game and withstood the Red Sox coming back twice to tie the score.

The series moves to game four with Lance Lynn of the Cardinals facing Clay Bucholz of the Boston Red Sox at 6 PM Sunday on KTGR.
