Missouri picked up a historic victory Saturday in a low scoring affair between the two Columbia’s of the SEC.The Tigers and the Gamecocks moved Sunday’s game to Saturday ahead of impending weather. South Carolina won game one 2-0 while Missouri won game two 4-0, their first ever victory in the SEC.
In Game 1, the Gamecocks scored runs in each of the third and fifth inning. Missouri managed just 5 hits and never advanced a runner past second base as the Gamecocks got stellar pitching from Nolan Belcher over 8 1/3 innings.
In Game 2, Missouri scored in the first on a double by Dylan Kelly and second inning on a Kendall Keaton single and wild pitch to grab a 3-0 lead. Keeton Steele was the player of the game, however, pitching 6 scoreless innings and striking out 7.
After South Carolina scored in the 5th inning of the first game, the Tigers held them scoreless for the final 18 innings.
