Add another Mizzou name to the list of SEC Legends.  Missouri’s Gene McArtor has been named as an AT&T SEC Baseball legend and will be honored at the SEC Baseball tournament in Hoover, Alabama.  The ceremony takes place May 25th, during the SEC Baseball tournament semifinals.

McArtor was the head coach of the Tigers from 1974-1994.  He was a player at Mizzou from 196-1963, playing first base and winning two Big 8 championships.  He also helped two different tiger squads reach the College World Series in his playing time.

After his playing days were done, McArtor taught and coached around St. Louis until 1969, when he rejoined Missouri as the first base coach under John “Hi” Simmons.
