Mizzou Women improve to 3-0

In their final tune-up before Cancun, the Missouri Women battled Western Illinois.

In a game that was much closer thatn the final score, the Tigers were triumphant over the Leathernecks 70-61 Tuesday night at Mizzou Arena.

In the game, the Leathernecks actually had the Tigers tied at 56 after Charnelle Reed hit a 3 with 5:20 remaining in the game, but the Tigers closed out Western Illinois with a 14-5 run to end the game.

Sydney Crafton led the Tigers with 19 points in the game.  She was one of 3 Tigers in double figures as Morgan Eye had 12 and Lianna Doty poured in 14.  Doty led the team with 8 assists while Brianna Kulas had 6 rebounds to lead the Tigers inside.

Reed led Western Illinois with 19 points and 6 rebounds.

Mizzou is 3-0 on the season and gets ready for their trip to Cancun next week where they’ll play Wisconsin-Green Bay, Wichita State, and Minnesota.  You can hear all the action beginning Thanksgiving afternoon on your home for Mizzou Women’s Basketball, ESPN 100.5 and your Total Sports Station 103.1 KTGR.
