Mizzou Softball Season Ends With 1-0 Loss

The Washington Huskies advanced to the Women’s College World Series sweeping the Missouri Tigers in two-games with a 1-0 victory Friday night.

Fueled by the momentum of a home-run robbing catch by Kylee Lahners on Mackenzie Sykes in the top of the first, Victoria Hayward smacked a leadoff home run in the bottom of the frame to give Washington the only offense they needed for the victory.

Bryana Walker shut the Tigers down allowing no hits through the first five innings of her outing. Walker allowed Missouri’s only two hits in the top of the sixth, but Kaitlin Inglesby came in and induced three ground-ball outs to elude the jam. Ingelsby finished off the game with a two-inning save.

Washington is the first team to punch its ticket to the Women’s College World Series, while Missouri bows out in the Super Regional Round for the second consecutive season.
