Mizzou Routs Tennessee State

Lawerence Bowers and Alex Oriakhi combined for 22 first half points and helped Mizzou to a halftime lead before pulling away in the second half.Bowers finished with 18 and Oriakhi had 15 as the Tigers cruised to a 68-38 victory Saturday Afternoon.

Missouri once again started slow, turning the ball over 11 times in the first half and holding only a 23-20 lead against the Tigers from Tennessee State.  In the second half, it was Mizzou who shook off the first half to take control of the game, outscoring the Tigers 45-18 after the midway point.

Outside of the double doubles from both Oriakhi and Bowers (each with 10 rebounds), Stefan Jankovic added 14 points in the game.  Negus Webster-Chan led the team with 4 assists in the game.

Robert Covington, considered by many to be TSU’s best player, finished the game with 12 points.

Mizzou improves to 8-1 on the season and now has 9 days off before their next game.  They’ll welcome the South Carolina State Bulldogs to Mizzou Arena on December 17th at 7pm.  Pregame will begin at 630pm on your home for Tiger Athletics, ESPN 100.5 and Total Sports Station 103.1 KTGR.
