Missouri pitcher Tori Finucane claimed SEC Freshman of the Year honors and was one of three Tigers named to the All-SEC First Team.
Finucane joined OF Taylor Gadbois and IF Corrin Genovese on the first team, leading the Tigers with a 21-5 record and an ERA of 1.70 that ranked second in the conference.
Gadbois was a sensational leadoff hitter for the Tigers, collecting a program record 29-game hitting streak in the middle of the season with a .424 average overall and 45 steals.
Genovese had a breakout season at the plate, hitting .439 in SEC play and was a defensive stalwart at shortstop once again. Her teammate, senior Mackenzie Sykes, earned first-team honors on the SEC’s All-Defensive Team.
The Tigers begin play in the SEC Tournament Thursday against LSU at 10 AM, with next weekend marking the start of NCAA Regional play.
