Mizzou overpowers Nichols State

Alex Oriakhi led 4 Tigers in double figures as Mizzou stayed perfect on the young season.

Mizzou led by 7 at halftime and never trailed after the 17 minute mark of the first half,  cruising to a 74-54 victory over Nichols State on Friday Night.

Oriakhi had 17 points and 10 rebounds on the night, leading the team in both categories.  Phil Pressey led the team with 3 assists.  The other Tigers in double figures were Earnest Ross with 16, Keion Bell had 13, and Lawrence Bowers had 12 on the evening.

The Colonels were led by Fred Hunter with 22 points and 5 rebounds.

Missouri improves to 3-0 on the season and gets ready to take on Stanford in the first round of the Battle 4 Atlantis tournament in Nassau, Bahamas.  KTGR’s own Thom Griffin will be in attendance and the tip comes your way at high noon on Thanksgiving on your home for Mizzou basketball, ESPN 100.5 and your Total Sports Station 103.1 KTGR.
