Posted by bfreeman on March 15, 2013

It was the first ever SEC game for Mizzou baseball and what better way to kick things off with the South Carolina Gamecocks, who have been to the last three NCAA baseball championship series.Rob Zastryzny pitched well, but it wasn’t enough as the Gamecocks upended the Tigers 4-1 Friday night at Taylor Stadium.

Mizzou’s Zastryzny pitched 7 strong innings, despite allowing all 4 runs for the Gamecocks.  He walked just two while striking out 10.  Despite pitching well, his record on the season fell to 1-3.

Missouri’s only run came in the 5th inning when Logan Pearson dobuled home Kendall Keaton.

Mizzou and South Carolina will play a doubleheader tomorrow.  It’ll all start at 145 with pregame on your home for the Missouri Tigers, ESPN 100.5 and Total Sports Station 103.1 KTGR.
