Mizzou blows out SCSU in Brown Debut
Missouri welcomed Oregon transfer Jabari Brown to the court Monday evening and the newcomer didn’t disappoint.Brown poured in 12 points and the Tigers had 5 players in double figures as Mizzou improved to 9-1 on the season with a 102-51 win over South Carolina State.
Missouri never trailed in the game and used an 18-2 run in the first half to put the game out of reach early. The lead at halftime was 31 as the score stood 49-18 and the Tigers never looked back.
Earnest Ross led the Tigers with 16 points in the game while Keion Bell joined Brown with 12 points. Stefan Jankovic and Lawrence Bowers each had 11 points in the game. Bowers’ total put him over 1000 points for his Mizzou career. Alex Oriakhi led the team with 11 rebounds and Phil Pressey led the team with 6 assists.
Missouri’s win against the Bulldogs is their largest win of the season. Things get harder this weekend as the Tigers head to St. Louis for the Busch Braggin’ Rights game against the number 10 ranked Illinois Fighting Illini.
