Mizzou Blows out Arkansas on Senior Night
It was the final home game in the careers of Keion Bell, Alex Oriakhi, and Lawrence Bowers. The trio, along with their Tiger teammates, didn’t disappoint. Emotions were running high in Mizzou Arena Tuesday night as the Missouri Tigers defeated the Arkansas Razorbacks 93-63.
Missouri got double figure points out of Bowers, Oriakhi, Earnest Ross, and Jabari Brown as the team rolled to their largest win in SEC play this season. The win also completed an undefeated season at Mizzou Arena for the Tigers.
Missouri started the game up 5-0 on the strength of 5 quick points from Bowers. Arkansas would come back and took their only lead of the game at 7-5 on a Coty Clarke jumper before the under 16 media timeout in the first half. Missouri would regain the lead on a Brown three pointer on the next possession and never trailed again.
By halftime, it was 48-22 Tigers and the second half was more of the same. Arkansas started the half on a 7-0 run, but Mizzou responsed emphatically, stretching the lead to as many as 32 in the game.
Bowers led the Tigers with 24 points, followed by Brown’s 23, Ross’ 11, and Oriakhi’s 10. Bowers was the only player with a double double, going for 11 rebounds in the game. Phil Pressey led the team with 6 assists.
Missouri completes their home schedule undefeated and is now 22-8 on the year overall. They’re 11-6 in the SEC and have one game remaining. They’ll be in Knoxville, TN Saturday afternoon to take on one of the hottest teams in the conference in the Tennessee Volunteers.
