Missouri State downs Mizzou

Missouri’s struggles at the plate continued Wednesday evening at Taylor Stadium.An early deficit was too much to overcome as the Tigers lost to Missouri State 4-2.

Missouri got an RBI from Dane Opel in the third and Josh Lester in the ninth to score their runs, but mustered just six hits on the day.

Jace James, John Miles, Jake Walsh, Eric Anderson, and Breckin Williams all toed the rubber for the Tigers in the game with James allowing 2 runs on a home run in the 3rd to Eric Cheray.  Walsh and Anderson each scored a run.  James took the loss, falling to 3-2 on the year.

Missouri hosts the Auburn Tigers this weekend for a critical 3 game series.  Game one gets underway Friday at 6pm with Rob Zastryzny on the mound for the Tigers.  Pregame begins at 5:45pm on your home for Mizzou Baseball, ESPN 100.5 and total sports station 103.1 KTGR.
