The Missouri Tigers have earned their fifth NCAA Soccer Tournament berth, and will host the Illinois Fighting Illini in a first-round game Saturday.
Mizzou finished 14-7 in the regular season, bowing out in the semifinals of the SEC Tournament with a 3-0 loss to then-#11 Florida. The berth is the team’s first trip to the tournament since 2008, and the Tigers have seen the second round in each of their last three trips.
Missouri fell to Illinois on penalty kicks in the second round of the tournament in 2008, and holds a 4-3-1 lead in the all-time series. The winner of Saturday’s game at Walton Stadium will take on the winner of Radford and #2 seed North Carolina.
