The NCAA has suspended Missouri Head Basketball Coach Frank Haith five games as a result of the findings in the Nevin Shapiro case.
The report, found here, states that Nevin Shapiro attracted players by impermissible means and then when he got into financial trouble, asked for financial compensation from the Miami Men’s Basketball program. The NCAA’s findings conclude that Haith should have notified the compliance department when Shapiro had threatened to expose his wrongdoings unless he received payment.
Shapiro found himself in prison, and then came out to Yahoo Sports which started the investigation process by the NCAA.
Haith will miss Missouri’s games against Southeastern Louisiana, Southern Illinois, Hawaii (in KC), Gardner-Webb, and IUPUI. We will hear from Coach Haith in a press conference this afternoon, with highlights on The Big Show on KTGR.
