Michael Porter Jr. commits to Mizzou

Michael Porter Jr. is coming home.

Michael Porter Jr. announced Friday on Twitter that he is committing to play basketball at the University of Missouri.

New Head Coach Cuonzo Martin hired Porter’s father as an assistant coach this week, sparking speculation that Porter Jr. and his younger brother Jontay could eventually become Tigers too.

Porter Jr. led Columbia’s Father Tolton Catholic School to a state title last year. He moved out-of-state for his final year of high school basketball.

Porter Jr. was originally committed to Washington, but was released from his commitment after Washington fired coach Lorenzo Romar.
