Ricky Nolasco allowed one run over seven innings and the team with the worst record in baseball takes a series from the best record in baseball with a 7-2 win.

Nolasco retired 11 straight batters at one point, and former Cardinals Placido Polanco had a game-high three hits and two RBIs. The Cards earned both their runs with two outs in the third and ninth innings.

The Cardinals’ lead in the NL Central dropped to 2.5 games with Cincinnati’s win over the Milwaukee Brewers.

St. Louis comes home to take on the Chicago Cubs for a four-game series beginning Monday. Shelby Miller takes on Travis Wood with coverage on KTGR beginning at 5:10 PM.
