Long Ball Helps and Hurts Mizzou

Mizzou scored all their runs on a home run in the third inning.  Auburn did the same thing in the Fourth and the Sixth.Rob Zastryzny pitched 8 innings, but it wasn’t enough as Missouri fell 3-1 to Auburn Friday night.

Keaton Steele continued to be a spark for the Tigers, providnig all their offense on a home run in the 3rd inning that tied the game at one.  It was Steele’s 3rd homer of the season.  However, Auburn’s Garrett Cooper hit two home runs in the game, giving the (Auburn) Tigers their second and 3rd runs of the game.

Zastryzny pitched well, striking out 12, but taking the loss in the game.  He is now 2-8 on the year.

Missouri is 13-24 on the year and 5-14 in the SEC.  They’ll try and even the series Saturday when Brett Graves faces off against Mike O’Neal.  Pregame begins at 145pm with first pitch at 2 on your home for the Tigers, ESPN 100.5 and total sports station 103.1 KTGR.
