Columbia businessman Stan Kroenke has been unanimously approved to become the seventh owner of the St. Louis Rams in a vote held by the NFL this morning. Kroenke exercised his right as a 40 percent shareholder to buy out the remaining 60 percent held by Chip Rosenbloom and Lucia Rodriguez. Kroenke already owns the NBA’s Denver Nuggets and NHL’s Colorado Avalanche. He will transfer ownership of both teams to his son, Josh, because of the NFL’s prohibition of cross-ownership. Kroenke also owns the largest stake in European Soccer Club Arsenal. Kroenke is the chairman and owner of The Kroenke Group real estate company, headquartered in Columbia. The Rams play all season long on KTGR FM (100.5).
