A game that started as a defensive battle turned into a classic finish in the battle between the two schools.
It took overtime, but the Kewpies came from behind to win 10-7 and advance to the district championship.
The two teams remained scoreless through 3 quarters before Logan Twehous found Alex Ofadile in the end zone for a Rock Bridge touchdown to give the Bruins a 7-0 lead early in the 4th quarter.
Hickman marched down the field on their next possesion but was unable to punch it in. The defense held once again and got the ball back with under 3 minutes remaining. Hickman marched down the field and Mason Murray found Roderick Beasley for the game tying touchdown with 53 seconds left.
In overtime, the Kewpies got the ball first and kicked a 22 yard FG to take a 10-7 lead. Rock Bridge drove to the 11 and took a shot at the end zone when Beasley picked Twehous off to seal the victory for Columbia-Hickman.
With the win, the Kewpies impove to 10-1 on the season and get ready to play Francis Howell next Friday for the District Championship.
