The game was tied at half when Hickman took over the game.
It was a close game at half, with Hickman and Jackson tied at 7. Jackson had a 64 yard pass and Hickman a 54 yard Devin Larry run in the first quarter. By halftime, both defenses had taken over.
AFter halftime, however, Hickman turned up the heat, causing two Indian fumbles and rumbling for 3 third quarter TD’s to race to a 27-7 lead. Jackson added a score early in the 4th quarter, but never got any closer. Hickman won 27-14 at LeMone field.
Mason Murray was 3 for 8 and 21 yards, but had 4 INT’s in the game. The Kewpies were led by Devin Larry on the ground as he carried the ball 28 times for 144 yards. Jackson was led on offense by QB Dante Vandeven, who was 14-31 for 177 yards 1 TD and 2 INT’s.
Hickman heads west next Friday to take on the Rockhurst Hawklets, who defeated the Jeff City Jays Friday 16-6. The Kewpies, who are 7-0 for the first time since 1973, will be looking to improve to 8-0 for the first time since that same year.
