The Hickman Kewpies spotted the Jefferson City Jays 9 points last night and then did what they’ve done all season long.

Though they prefer the run, once again it was the timely passing of Mason Muphy that led the Kewpies over the Jays 14-9 last night at Pete Adkins Stadium in Jefferson City.

Murphy tossed 2 TD passes (37 and 32 yards) to Roderick Beasley for Hickman’s scores on the night.  Overall, he was 8 of 16 for 136 yards and the two TD’s.  his counterpart, Thomas LePage, entered the game as one of the stat leaders in the area and went 10-20 for only 65 yards and had a late INT.

Hickman sealed the game on LePage’s interception after recovering a Jay fumble the series before.

Hickman improves to 6-0 on the season, their best start since 1978.  They have the week off before welcoming Jackson to Columbia for Homecoming in 2 weeks.  We’ll have that game 10/12 as part of our Game of the Week.
