Sean Halton drove in three runs, as the Milwaukee Brewers salvaged the final game of their series with the St. Louis Cardinals, winning 5-3.
Halton’s RBIs came in between a first inning RBI-groundout by Aramis Ramirez and a Norichika Aoki ninth-inning triple.
The Cardinals scored two in the fourth a Matt Holliday double and a David Freese sacrifice fly. Matt Adams homered for the fourth time in nine games with a solo shot in the ninth, but that’s as close as the Redbirds came.
St. Louis dropped back to a first-place tie with the Pittsburgh Pirates heading into the Cards’ weekend series with the Seattle Mariners. The Pirates have their final three games with the Chicago Cubs.
