KC Celebrates World Cup Goals

Nobody expected the U.S. to score when they did against Ghana in a 2-1 win on Monday.

The replay seen around the world is of substitute John Brooks’ game-winning header in the 86th minute, but Clint Dempsey’s goal in the opening moments was just as shocking.

Sporting Kansas City was rolling a camera at the Power and Light District when Dempsey scored just 32 seconds into the match… the fastest goal ever scored by the United States in a World Cup.

The reaction for Brooks’ improbable goal was just as elated:

The U.S. team plays next against Portugal Sunday at 5:00 pm.
