Missouri softball pitcher Bailey Erwin has decided to transfer out of the program.
Erwin made the announcement on Twitter after Coach Ehren Earleywine confirmed that she had been moved down in the rotation behind Nicole Hudson and Chelsea Thomas.
“I have decided to transfer from Mizzou for personal reasons and will keep those reasons to myself,” Erwin said on her personal Twitter account. “I want to thank everyone who has supported me in my time here, especially my teammates.”
Earleywine issued a statement saying, “I can confirm that Bailey Erwin is no longer a member of our program. We wish Bailey the best and thank her for her contributions to our program.”
Erwin was 3-0 in four starts, with a 2.33 ERA, the highest on the team, with opposing hitters batting .231 against her.
