Holifield arrested, dismissed from team

Redshirt Freshman TE Brandon Holifield has been kicked off the Mizzou football team after a second violation of team rules.

Holifield was first arrested before the Vanderbilt game, alongside others, for marijuana possession.  The arrest last night (11/3/12) was for the same violation.  He had been pulled over by the Missouri Highway Patrol for speeding (69 mph in a 55 mph zone).

During the stop, police found Holifield did not have his driver’s license and was in possession of less than 35 grams of marijuana.  He was taken to the Boone County Jail and posted bond.

Mizzou’s Chad Moeller confirmed to KOMU that Holifield had been dismissed from the team following the incident.

KOMU8’s Ashley Colley first reported the story.
