It was a much different story for the Tigers in Fayetteville, though the outcome remained the same.Missouri led late in the game before  Arkansas’ BJ Young scored the final 7 points of the game for the Razorbacks as Arkansas defeated Missouri 73-71 Saturday evening.

It was the first game for Missouri against former coach Mike Anderson.  Anderson’s former players Lawrence Bowers and Phil Pressey combined for 11 points in the game.

Missouri led the entire first half, taking a lead of 33-29 into halftime.  The Razorbacks used a strong start early in the second half to take the lead, one they wouldn’t relinquish until an Earnest Ross three pointer gave the Tigers a 63-61 lead with just over 4 minutes remaining.  The teams went back and forth in the final minutes of the game with the home team surging ahead thanks to Young.

Keion Bell led the team with a season high 25 points.  He and Ross were the only two players in double figures with Ross adding 16 points.  Alex Oriakhi had 11 rebounds for the Tigers while Ross and Jabari Brown tied for the team lead with 3 assists.

Missouri heads home to welcome number 6 Florida to Mizzou Arena Tuesday night at 8pm.  The Tigers are 18-7 on the season and fall to 7-5 in the SEC.  They’ll be looking to avenge an 83-52 loss in Gainsville in January.  Pregame begins at 7:30pm on your home for the Tigers, ESPN 100.5 and Total Sports Station 103.1 KTGR.
