Missouri jumped to an early lead Friday before Florida claimed the win.

After one inning of play, the Tigers led the Florida Gators 4-1, but a surge by the Gators in the 5th gave them the lead for good as Florida won 8-6 Friday night.

Missouri got RBI’s in the first inning from Dane Opel, Keaton Steele, and Josh Lester, but went cold at the plate until the 8th inning, when Opel drove in his second RBI of the night as well as a single from Logan Pearson closed the gap to 8-6.

Rob Zastryzny again pitched fairly well, but allowed 6 earned runs in 5 2/3 innings of work.  He fell to 2-7 on the season, having taken a decision in each of his starts in 2013.

Missouri is now 4-12 in the SEC and 12-21 on the year.  They’ll face Florida in game two of the series this afternoon at 2pm.  Pregame begins at 1:45pm on your home for the Tigers, ESPN 100.5 and total sports station 103.1 KTGR.
