The St. Louis Cardinals have removed Jaime Garcia from their playoff roster after suffering a strained rotator cuff in Game Two Monday.
Shelby Miller will replace him on the roster, and Garcia will be ineligible to play in the rest of the Division Series and can’t come back unless the Redbirds reach the World Series.
Garcia only lasted two innings on Monday, and X-rays showed a partial tear as well as shoulder inflammation, St. Louis manager Mike Matheny said Tuesday. Lance Lynn will start in his place if the Cardinals advance to the LCS, and Miller will be used in long relief.
Coverage of Game Three of the National League Division Series begins at 11:12 AM on ESPN 1580, 103.1 and 100.5 KTGR on Wednesday.
