The Missouri Tigers will host their fourth straight NCAA Softball Super Regional and advance to their sixth straight overall, with a 5-0 win in the decisive Game Seven over Hofstra Sunday.

The win came after Mizzou surrendered a 10-0 defeat after throwing their secondary pitchers in a run-rule affair. Chelsea Thomas shut the door in the second game with a one-hit shutout and nine strikeouts.

Missouri scored in the first on an RBI single by Mackenzie Sykes and extended the lead with a second-inning solo home run by Kelsea Roth. The Tigers blew the game open in the fifth on a three-run homer by Nicole Hudson.

Mizzou will play for the opportunity to reach its first Women’s College World Series since 2011, against the team they defeated in the Super Regionals that year. The Tigers will host the Washington Huskies this week, and you’ll be able to hear every pitch on KTGR.

Emily Crane’s third-inning single scored the only run Missouri needed to defeat Hofstra on the second day of play in the NCAA Softball Tournament.

Crane’s single was the lone Mizzou hit against Olivia Galati, and Chelsea Thomas escaped a pair of jams to help the Tigers. Thomas survived a bases-loaded situation with no outs in the first, and stranded the potential tying run in scoring position twice.

Hofstra would survive later in the day in their elimination game against Oregon State, winning 8-4 in 10 innings.

Missouri advances to play in the Regional Title against the Pride on Sunday, with two chances to win one game and capture the Columbia Regional. Coverage begins at 12:45 Sunday afternoon on ESPN 100.5 and 103.1 KTGR and KTGR.com.

Hickman and Rock Bridge will play in a District Final Game that will be heard on Friday night on KTGR.

A limited number of tickets will go on sale at Hickman and Rock Bridge at 7:30 AM Tuesday morning for the game that will take place at Hickman’s Alumni Stadium.

Fans are encouraged to buy tickets in advance because of the limited space at Hickman for all parties involved.

Coverage begins Friday with The Big Show with Will and Thom on Friday at 4 PM live from Hickman High School, and coverage of the game begins with the Countdown to Kickoff at 6:30.

Hickman and Rock Bridge have met only once in the playoffs, with Rock Bridge winning a 7-0 contest in 1981.

The Brewers intentionally walked Molina to load the bases in the ninth inning for Daniel Descalso, but he struck out trying to push across the would-be winning run.
