Eye powers Tigers over Golden Lions

The Missouri Tiger women continued their hot shooting and scoring Saturday afternoon at Mizzou Arena.Four Tigers were in double figures and Morgan Eye continued her hot shooting from behind the arc as the Tigers cruised to a 97-59 victory.

It was a close contest for the first 8 minutes 0f the game, but has been common in recent games for the Tigers, they started hitting shot after shot.  After the Golden Lions closed to 21-17, the Tigers outscored them 76-42 the rest of the game.

Eye had 19 points in the game, followed by Briana Kulas with 18, Maddie Stock with 17 and Sydney Crafton with 11.  Liz Smith led the team with 9 rebounds while Liene Priede had 5 assists to lead the team.

Mizzou’s 97 points, after their 91 points against Missouri State, is the first time they’ve scored 90 points in back to back games since December 8th and 11th of 1987.  It’s also the 4th consecutive game Mizzou has scored at least 80 points.

Mizzou now takes a break for finals week.  They’ll return to Norm Stewart Court on 12-16 to take on the SIU Saluki’s.  Pregame begins at 2pm with pregame starting at 1:45 on your home for Mizzou Women’s Basketball, ESPN 100.5 and Total Sports Station 103.1 KTGR.
