2013 is turning out to be a lot better for Carl Edwards than 2012. Edwards continued his strong start to the NASCAR Sprint Cup season with at 6th place finish in the Toyota Owners 400 at Richmond International Speedway.
Edwards has now finished in the top 10 5 times in the first 9 races of the season with 4 of those being in the top 5.
With his finish Saturday, Edwards vaulted 4 places in the points standings, jumping to number 2 behind leader Jimmie Johnson. He now sits 43 points behind the man that beat him in 2011 by a single point.
Edwards and the rest of the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series head to one of the circuit’s most famous tracks next weekend. They’ll crank up the speed at Talladega in the Aaron’s 499 next Sunday on Fox.
