Michael Dixon Jr. is no longer a member of the Missouri Men’s Basketball Team.
In a statement provided by MU, Dixon said, “It’s been a challenging few months and while I appreciate the support of many in the Mizzou community, including my coaches and teammates, it’s in the best interest of me, my family and the University of Missouri for me to finish my career elsewhere.”
Dixon did not play in the 2012-2013 season after an indefinite suspension was announced days before the beginning of the season.
It was learned last week that Dixon had been accused of rape, but no charges were filed after prosecutors did not find enough evidence to press charges.
However, a second accusation from 2010 surfaced, causing his status to be in question.
In his Tiger career, Dixon averaged 10.5 points and 1.8 rebounds a game.
