Nicole Dickson’s buzzer-beating jumper with 0.4 seconds remaining and the ensuing foul shot made up the final margin in Memphis’ 72-69 win over the Mizzou women Saturday.
Dickson scored a team-high 28 points in 37 minutes for Memphis, gaining the just the seventh win on the year for the Tigers clad in blue. Missouri never led in the game and only tied the game at 69 on a free throw by Bri Kulas. The transfer from Shawnee Mission, Kansas grabbed a career-high 23 points.
Sydney Crafton turned in a double-double for Mizzou with 16 points and 12 rebounds, while Morgan Eye joined her in double-figures with 13 points.
The loss for Missouri snapped a seven-game winning streak, dropping them to 11-3 to close out the non-conference season. MU opens up it’s first SEC slate with a road game at nationally-ranked Georgia on Thursday. The Bulldogs also lost this weekend, dropping a 70-59 decision to unranked Illinois on Friday.
