Chiefs Take Fisher #1 in 2013 NFL Draft

KC gave up its second round pick to get Alex Smith this offseason.  Now they gave him some protection with their first round selection.With the first pick in the draft, the Kansas City Chiefs picked Central Michigan offensive tackle Eric Fisher.

Fisher becomes the first Chippewa player ever taken number one overall.  He’s only the fourth OT taken number one, joining a list that includes former Rams OT Orlando Pace (1997), Ron Yary of the Minnesota Vikings (1969), and new Rams OT Jake Long (2008 by the Miami Dolphins).

Kansas City will not pick again until the 3rd round.
