Chiefs Secure Top Pick with Loss in Denver

The Denver Broncos continued their reign as the NFL’s hottest team, while the Kansas City Chiefs ended the year with the league’s worst record.

Denver defeated Kansas City 38-3, securing the 11th straight victory for Peyton Manning who went 23-for-29 passing with 3 touchdowns.

KC secured the number one pick in the NFL draft by virtue of a tiebreaker with fellow 2-14 Jacksonville.

Reports surfaced on Sunday afternoon that head coach Romeo Crennel would not be around to assist in that pick, as his fate will be determined Monday. The same NFL.com report added that GM Scott Pioli will be spared the ax, and he will go after Iowa Head Coach Kirk Ferentz to fill the void left by Crennel.

Denver will have a first-round bye in the playoffs, and will have home-field advantage throughout with the number-one seed.
