The Kansas City Chiefs have parted ways with GM Scott Pioli, the team said in a statement on Friday.
Pioli led the Chiefs to the playoffs in just one year of the four in his stay with Kansas City, where the team went 23-41. He was hired by the Chiefs after a successful role in New England where he won three Super Bowls as GM.
It is widely believed that Tom Heckert, who worked with Andy Reid as a GM in Philadelphia. Reid is the consensus favorite to land the coaching job and reports say his hire is “imminent”.
