Coming off their first win of the season last weekend in New Orleans, the Chiefs couldn’t make it two comebacks in a row at home against AFC West rival San Diego.

Last week, it was a 24-6 deficit for the Chiefs before they kicked their way to a win behind Ryan Succup.  This week, the Chiefs D surrendered 20 unanswered points to the Chargers before Jamal Charles rumbled for a 37 yard TD to make the score 20-6.

In the game, Matt Cassel was 24/42 for 251 yards and 2 TD passes.  He threw one for 13 yards to Charles and tossed a late one to Dwayne Bowe for 29 yards.  Charles had 92 yards on the ground and the two TD’s.  The Chiefs were doomed by 3 Cassel INT’s and 3 fumbles by the offense.

The Chargers were led by QB Phillip Rivers, who went 18/23 for 209 yards and 2 TD’s.  Antonio Gates remained his favorite target, catching 3 passes for 59 yards.

The Chiefs fall to 1-3 on the season, 2 games behind divison leader San Diego.  KC is at home again next weekend as they welcome the 3-1 Ravens to Arrowhead Stadium.  That game will kick off at noon on CBS.
