Chiefs Drop Sixth Straight at home to Rival Raiders
Coming off a bye week, the Chiefs were looking to get back into the win column for the second time in 2012. The Oakland Raiders had other ideas.
Oakland scored first and Kansas City turned the ball over 4 times in the game as the Raiders rolled to a 26-16 victory Sunday evening in Arrowhead Stadium.
With the game tied at 6 after both teams kicked 2 FG’s, the Raiders’ Denarius Moore caught a 9 yard TD pass from QB Carson Palmer to put Oakland up 13-6. KC would never get closer than 10 after a 10 yard TD pass from Matt Cassel to Dexter McCluster. Cassel entered the game for Brady Quinn in the first half after Quinn suffered a head injury.
Cassel finished the day 20/30 for 218 yards and the one TD pass. Cassel was also the leading rusher for the team with 35 yards on 7 carries. Dwayne Bowe was the team’s leading reciever with 3 catches and 65 yards.
Kansas City heads to San Diego for this week’s Thursday night game, beginning at 7:20pm. They’re 1-6 on the season and take on a Chargers team who fell Sunday to Cleveland, 7-6 and is 3-4 on the season.
