Cards Win In Home Opener

The Cardinals used a first inning 3 RBI double by Yadier Molina to start fast in earning a 5-3 win in front of a sold out Busch Stadium crowd.

The Cards got solid pitching from Michael Wacha and timely hitting to beat the Reds 5-3. Yadier Molina laced a bases clearing triple in the first and then Matt Holliday doubled and Allen Craig singled in the 7th inning to give Cards a 5-1 lead. Those runs came in handy when Trevor Rosenthal allowed 2 runs after giving two walks in the top of the 9th before closing the door and securing the win.
