There were no starting pitching woes for the St. Louis Cardinals in Colorado Tuesday night.
Cardinal pitching allowed only three hits, and first baseman Matt Adams hit two home runs in an 8-0 rout of the Rockies at Coors Field.
Adams was terrific on a three-hit night. He singled in two runs in the third inning, hit a solo home run in the fifth, and a three-run shot in the seventh, driving in six runs on the night. Lance Lynn matched Adams’ brilliance, throwing eight innings allowing only three hits with no walks and seven strikeouts. Jhonny Peralta and Matt Holliday added RBI doubles to round out the Cardinal scoring.
St. Louis looks to earn at least a series win on Tuesday at Coors Field. Shelby Miller takes the hill against the Rockies’ Jorge De La Rosa. Pregame coverage begins at 6:45 pm on ESPN 103.1 and 1580 AM KTGR.
