The St. Louis Cardinals strung together a four-run, two-out rally to defeat the Milwaukee Brewers, 8-5, Monday night.
Six two-out hits keyed the rally, the first one to bring home a run coming from Matt Adams to tie the score. Matt Carpenter’s single gave the Cards the lead, and David Freese doubled home two more for some insurance.
Michael Wacha, despite blowing a 4-2 lead, earned his second victory of the season with his one inning of work.
St. Louis kept pace with the Pittsburgh Pirates who beat the San Diego Padres, 3-1. Game two of the series with Milwaukee is set for tomorrow night with KTGR coverage at 6:15.
