Blues Win In Shootout Over Vancouver

The St. Louis Blues stopped a 179-minute scoreless streak with a third-period goal to force overtime, then beat the Vancouver Canucks with two goals in a shootout.

Andy McDonald and Alex Steen scored in the penalty shootout, that was forced with Jay Bouwmeester’s first goal with the St. Louis Blues. The Blues extended their lead over eighth-place Detroit and Columbus to three points, and kept pace with Minnesota who also won.

The Blues return to the ice Thursday hosting Phoenix before welcoming Dallas in a back-to-back at Scottrade Center.
